1904 AT IT'S BEST

QUEEN ANNE VICTORIAN

Exciting were those years when great Victorians were the home of choice, plenty of room was a sign of success, quality of workmanship was a sure thing and enjoyment of life resided there. Those times although past are still found in the present in the character and stature of this home.

Step back into the past....Today! It's your time to enjoy the same quiet enjoyable times. Take a moment...close your eyes ....vision yourself in this beautiful Queen Anne. Take yourself back to a thought that places you quietly sitting in a home like this, enjoying your most comforting melody, a good book and a warm cup of tea. With all of this beauty surrounding you, you will have to pinch yourself just to see if it's true. IT IS!!

Located in Marysville, Kansas you will find this wonderful home being offered to you furnished or unfurnished, you choose.

Newly built by Mr. Charles Pusch , a German-born cigar manufacturer from West Prussia. Mr. Pusch felt that only the best would do so he retained an architect, local carpenters, stone masons, and draftsmen who had learned their trades in the"Old Country".

Quality materials were ordered for this home and brought in from out of state. Hard red brick for the exterior and oak woodwork for the interior were shipped in. Mr.Pusch finished this home in true Victorian style and detail. Visitors are awed by it's beauty and craftsmanship.

This home became the Grandest of Victorian homes in Marysville.

Just a few wonderful features within this home include four fireplaces with oak mantels and hearths of porcelain tiles, two of the fireplaces are functional and two are for aesthetic value only, carved, scrolled and filigreed oak entablatures across doorways and room divisions of the twin parlors. Three large sets of six panel pocket doors can be found between the main floor rooms. Elaborate stenciling on the walls and ceilings was restored by recognized restoration artist Joe Oswald.

This beautiful home also features a three story bay window, bowed windows and windows with stained and beveled glass, 2 1/2 inch oak flooring on the first floor, parquet flooring in the second-floor bedrooms and down the hall, each with a different pattern, and last but not least ceramic tile flooring in the butlers pantry, kitchen and bathroom. A new bath was added to the main floor. Originally there was one bath on the second floor and a 3/4 bath in the basement level of the home. All  three bathrooms are functional.

You will find eight bedrooms and several storage rooms. The kitchen proudly flaunts a turn of the century intercom system used for summoning the servants. The maids quarters was located on the second floor just a few steps away from a second staircase that directs you to the kitchen.

A pair of sculptured stone lions flank the steps leading to double colonnades that mark the entrance onto the wrap around porch. A beautiful oak door with a large oval pane of beveled glass opens into the reception area in the central hallway leading to a spacious six rooms on the main floor. A very impressive oak staircase paneled in a wonderful wainscoting takes you to the second floor which proudly displays eight rooms. The third floor features three bedrooms and three storage rooms.

The Victorian Steamboat Gothic( as described in other writings) has never lost its original sheen or been refinished. When the Pusch family sold the home, Dr. Randall purchased it for his family in 1930. Dr. Randall's daughter and husband eventually took ownership of the home in 1974 and made it their family home until the present. This home has had a lot of loving care and the family wishes the next owner the same enjoyments that they have treasured.

This place in Marysville history is listed on the National Historic Registry as ""Pusch -Randell House". To Locals it is recognized as
the "Pusch-Randall-Anderson Home"
